The Shrinkage Effect of POF Shrink Film and Its Temperature Sensitivity

During the shrinkage process of POF shrink film, the setting of the shrinkage furnace temperature directly affects the shrinkage effect of POF heat shrink film. The temperature setting for the shrinkage furnace of environmentally friendly POF shrink film is generally between 130-180 degrees Celsius. There is a process when the product enters the heat shrinkage, usually heating first, then shrinking, and finally after exiting the shrinkage furnace, there is a cooling time. In actual production operations, how should the temperature be set to achieve the best shrinkage effect of POF shrink film? Consider the following aspects:
First, choose the correct shrinkage furnace and set the temperature correctly. The temperature setting depends on the shrinkage furnace itself, so choosing the right shrinkage furnace is crucial. Different materials of shrink films can choose shrinkage furnaces with different functions. For POF environmentally friendly heat shrink film, it is best to choose a constant temperature shrinkage furnace with internal air circulation to avoid uneven heating of the film during shrinkage, which affects the shrinkage effect. If the temperature set during the shrinkage process is too high, the shrink film may be burnt during product shrinkage; if the temperature setting is too low, the surface of the shrink film after shrinkage will wrinkle and be uneven.
Second, consider the thickness of the POF shrink film. Generally, for POF shrink film with a thickness below 0.015mm (1.5 microns), the optimal shrinkage temperature is around 150 degrees Celsius, and the thicker the film, the higher the shrinkage temperature. For POF shrink film with a thickness of 0.02mm (2 microns) or above, the shrinkage temperature is around 170 degrees Celsius. The specific temperature should be determined based on the actual shrinkage situation.
Finally, consider seasonal factors. The temperature of the heat shrinkage machine needs to be adjusted differently in different seasons. When the weather is cold, the shrinkage temperature should be appropriately increased, and vice versa. Also, different manufacturers' heating components of shrinkage machines are different, and the actual heating effects are also different. Some may not reach the specified temperature, so attention should be paid during actual shrinkage.
In addition to temperature, there are other factors that affect the shrinkage effect of plastic films. The matching of the conveyor speed of the shrinkage furnace with the temperature is also crucial. Also, when packing, the product should be placed horizontally, and the two corners should be parallel. Finally, the bursting may be due to too high temperature, poor shrinkage due to too low temperature, or it may be related to the number of exhaust holes.
These are several reasons why the shrinkage effect of POF shrink film is affected by temperature.
